The diocesan commission for Dialogue and Unity is appointed by the Bishop to advise him on all ecumenical and inter-faith matters relating to the Diocese. member of the Commission are appointed on a deanery basis; one clergy and one lay member from each of the eight deaneries. Members if the Commission represent the Diocese on a number of interchurch bodies at local, county and national level. Recently the Commission has established a sub committee for interreligious matters. The Commission has an important educational role in the Diocese and in the deaneries, for example by the organisation of days of reflection and study.
