For those who are attending for the first time, here is some background information:

Our new Diocesan Adult Religious Education programme was launched in September 2005, with between 40 and 140 people attending each of the main sessions. We are now beginning our third year, once again with a wide range of topics.

Everyone is welcome. The sessions are free, but donations towards the cost of speakers, venues and refreshments will be very welcome at the end of each day. Although people can just turn up on the day, we would much prefer everyone to register for each study day so that we can arrange enough seating and drinks.

The Sessions: Some are 'Teaching' modules (T), others are 'Practical' (P). All teaching days are on Saturdays, with registration and coffee from 10.30, the session starting at 11.00, and finishing at 3.00. Please bring your own packed lunch; tea & coffee will be provided. Perhaps bring a cushion as well!

Diocesan certificate: Some people may wish to achieve the Diocesan Certificate. To be awarded each level of the Diocesan Certificate, you need to have attended at least two Teaching Modules and at least one Practical Module in a total of four Modules. There is no written work or assessment involved: all you have to do is to attend and participate. Advice on further reading will be given.
